Meccano House, 2012

This addition to an existing single storey 100 year old weatherboard house has been designed to provide new living and dining spaces, which open up to the rear garden.  An existing elm tree in the back yard acts as a driving force and focal point for the design, where the canopy nestles in and above the new development to form outdoor space.  Meccano and train motifs reoccur throughout the interior, a direct reference to the client's passion for the miniature construction systems.
